Value-Added Programs

Value-Added Programs highlight cattle with additional health, management, genetics, and production advantages. Each program provides buyers with clear, standardized information to help them identify cattle that offer added value.

VAC 30 Badge.png

VAC 30

To qualify for the CattleLink VAC 30 designation, calves must:

  • Be home raised and weaned for a minimum of 30 days prior to delivery.

  • Receive two doses of a 7-way, 8-way, or 9-way Clostridial vaccine, with the initial dose administered at branding or prior to/at weaning and the booster administered according to product label directions.

  • Receive two doses of a viral 5-way vaccine covering IBR, PI3, BRSV, and BVD Types I & II, with boosters administered according to product label directions.

  • IBR and PI3 components must be modified-live or chemically altered modified-live, unless otherwise approved by a veterinarian.

  • BVD and BRSV components may be modified-live or killed.

  • Receive at least one dose of Mannheimia haemolytica and/or Pasteurella multocida vaccine, with boosters administered according to product label directions.

  • Have internal and external parasite control administered as appropriate for the cattle and operation.

VAC 45

To qualify for the CattleLink VAC 45 designation, calves must meet all of the following requirements:

  • Calves must be home raised and weaned for a minimum of 45 days prior to delivery.

  • Calves must receive two doses of a 7-way, 8-way, or 9-way Clostridial vaccine. The initial dose should be administered at branding or prior to/at weaning, with the booster administered according to the vaccine manufacturer's label directions.

  • Calves must receive two doses of a viral 5-way vaccine providing protection against IBR, PI3, BRSV, and BVD Types I & II. Boosters must be administered according to label directions.

    • IBR and PI3 components must be modified-live or chemically altered modified-live products, unless otherwise approved by a veterinarian.

    • BVD and BRSV components may be either modified-live or killed products.

  • Calves must receive at least one dose of Mannheimia haemolytica and/or Pasteurella multocida vaccine, with additional doses administered according to product label directions.

  • Calves must receive two doses of a viral 5-way vaccine providing protection against IBR, PI3, BRSV, and BVD Types I & II. Boosters must be administered according to label directions.
