Buyers on CattleLink play an important role in maintaining a trustworthy and reliable marketplace.

After winning a lot, buyers are responsible for sending a $40 per head deposit is directly to the seller to secure the purchase. How Does the Auction Process Work?

Live online cattle auctions are hosted monthly on CattleLink. Only registered buyers can participate in bidding.

Buyers receive regular updates about when an auction goes live, when it ends, and when the next one is scheduled. A link to join the auction is provided 30 minutes before it starts—posted at the top of the home page and sent directly to buyers.

Bidding takes place directly on the platform. Once a lot is marked “sold,” bidding closes, and the winning Buyer is notified. At that point, a $40 per head deposit is to be sent to the seller, due at the end of the auction

How Are Deposits and Payments Handled?

After winning a lot, buyers complete payment directly with the seller. Accepted methods include Wire Transfer, ACH, or overnight delivery of checks sent via FedEx or UPS—these methods are fast, secure, and easy to track.

Checks sent through USPS are not accepted as they can be delayed or lost in the mail. Payments should be made promptly according to the auction timeline to ensure a smooth and reliable transaction for both buyers and sellers.

This approach helps keep auctions running smoothly and protects everyone involved in the sale.
